Judicial custody of seven accused including Chaitra Kundapur
The 3rd ACMM Court of Bengaluru has issued an order to remand Chaitra Kundapura and six other accused in judicial custody till October 6, who are facing the charge of defrauding businessman Govindababu Pujari of crores of rupees to give them BJP ticket for Byndur Assembly Constituency.
After the custody period of accused Chaitra, Gagan, Ramesh, Dhanraj, Srikanth, Prajwal and Chenna Naik ended today, the CCB police produced the accused before the court. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody as the investigating officer has clarified that there is no further need for CCB investigation. The bail application filed by the counsel for the accused has been allowed to file objections on September 26.
Chaitra and the other accused were brought to the Central Jail in Agrahara, Parappa in a KSRP bus today.
Pujari had complained that money was given to Chaitra, Abhinav Halashree and others after promising to give BJP ticket from Byndur in Udupi district.
